Redesigning the Booking Experience to Drive Engagement.
Overview
TocaSocial is a UK based entertainment venue that merges interactive football games with food, drinks, and social experiences. I was brought in to redesign their online booking system with a focus on enhancing the user journey and increasing conversions especially in the booking of additional products such as food and beverage packages.
The Challenge
The booking system needed not only a visual refresh but also an improved UX structure that could support multiple variables: time slots, number of players, venue locations, and extra items like drinks, food, or special packs. One of the key challenges was helping users make decisions quickly while subtly encouraging upselling. Another challenge was guiding users towards underutilized time slots without disrupting the overall flow.
The Process
I started by analyzing the existing flow and identifying friction points where users were abandoning the booking process. Using insights from both analytics and user testing, I mapped a more intuitive step by step booking journey. We introduced smart suggestions, like showing off peak time slots with special offers, to optimize venue occupancy. I also restructured the product add-on section to highlight packages and extras in a more engaging way, without overwhelming the user. Visual clarity and mobile responsiveness were critical, so I ensured the interface adapted seamlessly across devices.
The Result
The redesigned booking system significantly improved user engagement and ease of use. Conversion rates increased not only for bookings but also for product upsells. The addition of offer based suggestions for quieter time slots helped balance occupancy more effectively across the day. Visually, the platform now better reflects TocaSocial's fun, interactive brand while delivering a seamless user experience from start to finish.
